Carl Robinson - Organiser

Robinson is an artist and senior lecturer on BA (Hons) Fine Art at the University of Derby.  His practice-based PhD asks whether it is possible to synthesise materials-based paint(ing) with photography and the digital.  This has led to his interest in contemporary art practices and associated theories that test the relationships of these three mediums.

He has exhibited across the UK. and internationally, including NYIT Gallery 61, New York, The Space, Hong Kong, Gallery 27, London, FQ Projects, Shanghai amongst others.

From his interest in conjoining of the mediums and practices of painting, photography and the digital, Robinson initiated and organised the PaintingDigitalPhotography conference at QUAD arts centre Derby UK in 2017.  Out of this conference,  the book PaintingDigitalPhotography: Synthesis and difference in the age of media equivalence was published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
